Role Overview

As a Software Architect you will be responsible for the very foundations of software products offered by PDI. You will play key role in designing and building a PDI Cloud Platform which serves as a base for products' microservices and encapsulates all cross cutting concerns as well as promotes best architectural practices. As the PDI software base grows in diversity and complexity, your role will be to enable Product Teams to utilize the PDI Cloud Platform to achieve horizontal scalability, resiliency, seamlessly integrate with identity management platform and much more. 

You need to be very comfortable with Linux, Docker and Kubernetes, but most importantly able to adopt and learn very quickly on a continuous basis. Successful architects are also excellent communicators. You will be working hand in hand with Senior Engineers, Developers, DevOps Engineers, Managers and other stakeholders to ensure Platform adoption to discover and fulfill business needs. You will be actively involved in coaching and evangelizing developer Teams on how to use the Platform as well as adding new functionalities based on developer feedback and requirements.

• Design, implement, improve and support software architecture solutions to server business goals
• Critical thinking in your day-to-day to bring insightful conceptual contributions of solution & architectural design to your team
• Take end-to-end ownership of work items, driving the direction & soliciting support from peers & stakeholders as necessary to complete the work
• Provide architectural guidance and design leadership to our global product engineering teams.
• Be part of an Agile team: actively participate in all Agile ceremonies & activities and be accountable for the sprint deliverables
• Research, evaluate and recommend tools, technologies and software processes to improve quality and productivity of software solutions.
• Advocate good development, design and testing patterns and practices with product engineering teams and their leadership.
• Support product engineering teams in building high quality, robust and future proof software solutions for PDI.

• Experience: years experience designing and developing new or maintaining existing software applications in a software product development environment
• 2 years of experience as a Software Architect.

• Working knowledge of containers and container orchestration technologies: Docker, Kubernetes or Swarm as well as Istio
• Understanding of API Gateways products: Apigee preferred 
• Familiar with Infrastructure as Code concepts and tools: Terraform, Ansible, SaltStack
• Working knowledge of messaging patterns and frameworks: Kafka preferred
• Deep understanding of secure architecture & security frameworks & services: Okta preferred 
• Proficient with Linux system administration and Bash scripting
• Working experience with source code repository systems: TFS, Git, Bitbucket
• Working experience with one or more flavors of SQL RDBMS administration and scripting DDL and DML
• Working experience with SPA web development frameworks & libraries: Angular, React, Vue
• Familiar with native mobile development stacks for Android and iOS: Xamarin, NativeScript, Cordova
• Proficient in a few programming languages: C#, Go, C++, Rust, Java
• Solid understanding of RESTful services design
• Ability to design UML and other architectural diagrams
