Job Description

Role:- R&D Team Lead ( Manager)

Purpose: Leading a team of Chemists and providing scientific leadership to develop commercially viable, scalable, and safe processes for the assigned projects. Planning, execution, and all other functional requirements to deliver projects on agreed quality, quantity, and timeline. Collaborate with T&D and production departments to develop sustainable chemical processes to scale up.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Ensure safety at workplace-safe handling and transport of hazardous chemicals, instruments and glassware.
  2. Designing the experiments and driving results.
  3. Delivering required training to the team to achieve productivity
  4. Ensuring finished goods/samples dispatches as per agreed terms of the customer and timelines.
  5. Preparation and reviewing of SOPs.
  6. Optimize reaction conditions, purification methods, and synthetic strategies to improve efficiency, yield, and reproducibility of synthesis processes.
  7. Develop innovative solutions to overcome synthetic hurdles and achieve project objectives.
  8. Ensuring 100% compliance in scheduling and execution of calibration and preventive maintenance of lab equipment / instruments.

Competencies:

  1. Excellent knowledge in synthetic organic chemistry & experimental skills.

  2. Good written and verbal communication skills in English.

  3. Must have proficiency in different literature search tools

  4. Must have handled a team size of min 2 to 3.

  5. Good interpersonal skills and team player

  6. Good presentation skills.

  7. Working knowledge in SAP is desirable.

Experience: For M.Sc Years) or Ph.D. (6+ Years) - Organic Chemistry

Qualifications:- M. Sc. - Organic Chemistry / Ph.D. - Chemistry

Nature of experience: Must have related experience in Chemical, Pharma or Agro industry & experience in multi-step organic synthesis and process development chemistry. Experience in project management and fluorination chemistry are desirable.
