Job Title: Design Head Industrial & Warehouse Construction

Location: Vidyavihar Mumbai

Reports To: Managing Director / Head of Projects

Role Objective:

To lead the design management function for industrial and warehouse projects, ensuring innovative, cost-effective, and compliant design solutions aligned with client requirements, statutory norms, and project timelines. The Design Head will collaborate with internal stakeholders, consultants, and clients to drive excellence in planning, detailing, and execution support.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Design Management & Leadership

  • Lead the entire design process from concept to execution for industrial buildings, warehouses, cold storage, and logistic hubs.
  • Translate client briefs into functional, efficient, and cost-optimized design solutions.
  • Manage in-house design team, external consultants, and architects.
  • Ensure adherence to project budgets, timelines, and technical standards.

2. Technical Expertise

  • Develop layout plans, structural designs, and architectural concepts tailored for large-scale industrial and warehouse facilities.
  • Review and approve structural, architectural, MEP, and infrastructure drawings.
  • Integrate modern construction technologies, prefabrication, steel structures, and sustainable design practices.
  • Ensure compliance with NBC, FSI, zoning regulations, fire & safety norms, green building standards, and statutory requirements.

3. Coordination & Collaboration

  • Collaborate closely with Business Development, Project Execution, and Procurement teams during bidding and project delivery.
  • Support pre-sales activities with design proposals, technical presentations, and value engineering.
  • Coordinate with clients, statutory bodies, and consultants to obtain necessary approvals.

4. Quality & Innovation

  • Introduce best practices, design automation tools (BIM, Revit, Tekla, etc.), and innovative materials.
  • Conduct regular design reviews, audits, and ensure quality deliverables.
  • Promote sustainable, energy-efficient, and cost-saving design initiatives.

5. Team Management & Development

  • Build, mentor, and lead a team of architects, engineers, and designers
  • Establish design SOPs, checklists, and standard templates.
  • Drive continuous improvement and technical excellence within the team.

Key Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong knowledge of industrial & warehouse design (steel structures, RCC, PEB, MEP integration).
  • Exertise in design software: AutoCAD, Revit, Tekla, Staad Pro, ETABS, BIM tools.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and presentation skills.
  • Ability to balance aesthetics, functionality, and cost efficiency.
  • Strong leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making ability.
