Program Manager I, Tech

About the Role

This role will be responsible for leading the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of product testing strategies across all Uber products and partner companies. In this role, you will ensure that Uber's product applications are bug-free and deliver best-in-class user experiences. You will oversee large-scale, fast-paced programs to meet key performance indicators (KPIs) for delivery standards while driving continuous innovation through the application of advanced frameworks and data-driven methodologies.

The role requires strategic and operational leadership and the ability to build and execute complex testing and quality assurance frameworks. You will be responsible for ensuring that Uber's products maintain the highest quality standards while evolving to meet the dynamic needs of our business and customers. In short, You will be the custodian of the Quality at Uber by managing Testing and production bugs management for all of the Uber Apps.

- What the Candidate Will Do -

• Manage end to end stakeholder engagement, vendor management and overall delivery of major lines of businesses within and outside Uber globally for Quality
• Drive strategic initiatives and big bold bets for Quality charter by thinking outside the box and keep a close eye on delivery till logical conclusion
• Lead implementation of new scale operations processes from 0 to 1 which includes redefining the strategy, working through vendor partners, working with Uber's partners and ensuring minimum impact on the defined KPIs
• Identify and mitigate program risks and issues, ensuring timely escalation and resolution and analyze program performance and implement optimizations to improve efficiency and outcomes.
• Provide regular program updates to stakeholders, including executive leadership and external partners. Conduct weekly, monthly and quarterly business reviews.
• Create strategy plan to support the delivery of operations for Uber's partners and work with growth teams on the sales and marketing efforts
• Act as a subject matter expert on various Quality initiatives and mentor junior PGMs on qualitative elements

• Ability to understand, read & write PRDs to support product teams on quick feature development

• Basic Qualifications -

• Minimum 5 years of experience in program management or managing clients as a QA manager

• Experience in solving problems, both structured and ambiguous, at scale with strong attention to detail in constantly evolving business environments
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to influence internal and external partners without authority
• Customer-obsessed. Taking complex product challenges and simplifying to solve the end user problems
• Experience with process design and optimization, program management, customer support strategies, quality assurance and willingness to explore and learn new technologies
• Entrepreneurial Mindset - Ability to think Top-Down and Bottom-up

• Data driven - ability to go into the details and figure out problems at a very granular level by leveraging derived metrics

• Preferred Qualifications -

• Expertise in quality assurance methodologies, such as functional, regression, and usability testing, with experience in both manual and automated testing practices.

• Familiarity with industry-standard tools and technologies for product testing, quality assurance, and process automation (e.g., Selenium, Jenkins, TestRail, Jira).
• Strong operational background managing large scale complex operations
• Proven ability to drive a complex program from 0 to 1
• Good exposure in new industry practices like Gen AI, upcoming testing capabilities
• Sales experience for technical engagements
