What will you be doing here?

• Lead, mentor, and grow a high-performing team of software engineers.
• Oversee the execution of engineering projects from planning to delivery, ensuring timelines, quality, and budget goals are met.
• Drive engineering best practices, architecture decisions, and code quality standards.
• Work closely with Product, Design, QA, and other stakeholders to align technical execution with business goals.
• Conduct regular 1:1s, performance reviews, and provide constructive feedback and career development support.
• Participate in hiring processes to attract and retain top engineering talent.
• Stay current with industry trends and advocate for the adoption of new tools and technologies that improve team productivity and code quality.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and scale a team of backend and full-stack engineers.
• Oversee the execution of complex engineering projects from design to deployment, ensuring quality and timely delivery.
• Define and enforce engineering best practices, architecture standards, and code quality metrics.
• Collaborate closely with Product, Design, QA, and Data Science teams to deliver scalable SaaS solutions.
• Conduct performance reviews, one-on-ones, and career development sessions for engineers.
• Contribute to system design, code reviews, and technical decision-making.
• Drive adoption of modern technologies, tools, and DevOps practices.
• Manage agile sprints, prioritize backlogs, and ensure efficient project execution.
• Partner with leadership to shape technical strategy and roadmap for the product.

Technical Skills

• Strong hands-on experience with backend development in Python, , or Java.
• Expertise in cloud environments (AWS) EC2, Lambda, S3, RDS, ECS, etc.
• Knowledge of modern data technologies Graph Databases, Vector Databases, MongoDB, ElasticSearch.
• Experience with microservices architecture, RESTful APIs, event-driven systems, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Understanding of ML/NLP pipelines and experience collaborating with Data Science teams.
• Proficiency in Agile methodologies and project management tools (Jira, Confluence, etc.).

Qualifications

• B.Tech/M.Tech in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 8+ years of backend software development experience. 2+ years of people management or technical leadership experience.
• Proven experience managing agile engineering teams in a fast-paced startup or scale-up.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
