Founding Engineer – Energy Management System

We are building Product 2: the Energy Management System (EMS) — the brain for batteries. Without it, storage is just metal.

You will help design and build the system from the ground up. Work will include writing EMS logic for charging, discharging, and scheduling; connecting to inverters and battery management systems over Modbus and CAN bus; building telemetry pipelines and reporting tools; and ensuring the platform is reliable and scalable.

Your background should include:

  • Python (pandas, asyncio, REST APIs, Docker)
  • Databases (Postgres or TimescaleDB)
  • Modbus / CAN bus integration
  • Battery safety basics (SoC, voltage, current limits)
  • Dashboards (Streamlit or React)
  • DevOps (Docker, CI/CD, monitoring)
  • SCADA / IEC protocols
  • Forecasting and optimization models

If you don't know everything on this list, you should be hungry enough to learn in one-third the time most people think possible.

This work demands urgency. We will move fast, build daily, and review daily. Expect intense discussions every day, pushing each other to higher standards.
