Job Summary
The Kitchen Steward is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, hygiene, and organization of all kitchen areas, including equipment, utensils, and storage spaces. This role plays a vital part in ensuring smooth kitchen operations and maintaining a safe and sanitary work environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of kitchen areas.
- Clean and sanitize all equipment, utensils, and surfaces.
- Clean all floors, walls, switches, lights, and shelves.
- Sweep and mop all floors regularly.
- Clean under surfaces of tables, chillers, freezers, and ice makers.
- Clean staff toilets regularly.
- Remove fly killer trays daily, clean, and replace.
- Change gas lines as required.
- Clean outdoor areas, including seating and surrounding zones.
- Remove garbage bins and ensure proper waste disposal.
- Support kitchen hood cleaning and maintenance activities.
- Monitor and maintain kitchen supplies and equipment.
- Follow all safety and sanitation protocols.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a kitchen stewarding, housekeeping, or cleaning role preferred.
- Basic understanding of hygiene and sanitation standards.
- Physically fit to perform cleaning and lifting tasks.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work flexible hours, including weekends or holidays.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness.
