Kitchen Steward

Job Summary

The Kitchen Steward is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, hygiene, and organization of all kitchen areas, including equipment, utensils, and storage spaces. This role plays a vital part in ensuring smooth kitchen operations and maintaining a safe and sanitary work environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness and organization of kitchen areas.
• Clean and sanitize all equipment, utensils, and surfaces.
• Clean all floors, walls, switches, lights, and shelves.
• Sweep and mop all floors regularly.
• Clean under surfaces of tables, chillers, freezers, and ice makers.
• Clean staff toilets regularly.
• Remove fly killer trays daily, clean, and replace.
• Change gas lines as required.
• Clean outdoor areas, including seating and surrounding zones.
• Remove garbage bins and ensure proper waste disposal.
• Support kitchen hood cleaning and maintenance activities.
• Monitor and maintain kitchen supplies and equipment.
• Follow all safety and sanitation protocols.

Requirements

• Previous experience in a kitchen stewarding, housekeeping, or cleaning role preferred.
• Basic understanding of hygiene and sanitation standards.
• Physically fit to perform cleaning and lifting tasks.
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work flexible hours, including weekends or holidays.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness.
