Role & responsibilities

Job Summary:

As an Electrical Project Manager, you will lead and manage electrical projects from start to finish. You will oversee everything from planning, scheduling, execution, and commissioning, to final handover. Your responsibilities will include managing teams, resources, and client relationships, as well as ensuring adherence to quality standards, safety regulations, and budget constraints.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Project Planning & Execution:

2. Lead execution of electrical systems like HT/LT systems, substations, DG sets, power distribution, and more.

3. Study contract documents, BOQs, specifications, and drawings to ensure accurate project setup.
4. Prepare project schedules and resource planning strategies.

5. Ensure timely project delivery within the established quality, safety, and cost parameters.

6. Team & Manpower Management:

7. Manage a team of Project Engineers, Site Engineers, Supervisors, and Technicians.

8. Allocate responsibilities and track daily performance.

9. Conduct site reviews and progress meetings.

10. Client, Consultant & Inter-Department Coordination:

11. Act as the primary point of contact for clients, PMC, consultants, and architects.

12. Coordinate with civil, HVAC, firefighting, plumbing teams, and other internal departments.

13. Commercial Control & Billing:

14. Monitor project costs, cash flow, and profitability.

15. Approve R.A Bills, Final Bills, and variations.

16. Ensure timely collection and control of material wastage.

17. Procurement & Vendor Management:

18. Finalize approved vendors and subcontractors.

19. Review technical datasheets and material submittals.

20. Ensure materials are supplied as per the approved schedule and standards.

21. Quality Control & Testing Commissioning:

22. Ensure compliance with industry standards (IS, NBC, CPWD norms).

23. Oversee testing, commissioning, and final inspection activities like transformer charging, DG sets synchronization, etc.

24. Safety, Compliance & Risk Management:

25. Enforce EHS and statutory safety compliance on all sites.

26. Conduct safety audits and toolbox talks.

27. Maintain a zero-accident culture on-site.

28. Documentation & Handover:

29. Review and approve as-built drawings, O&M manuals, and test reports.

Preferred candidate profile

Location: As per Project Site / Head Office

Experience: 68 years

Qualification: B.E / B.Tech / Diploma in Electrical Engineering

Industry: Electrical Contracting

Technical Skills Required:

• AutoCAD for electrical coordination and shop drawings.
• MS Excel for project costing, billing, and tracking.
• MS Project/Primavera for project management (preferred).
• Strong knowledge of BOQs, tender management, and variation control.
• Knowledge of Electrical Indian Codes and statutory approvals.
