Middleware Engineer

Job Title: Middleware Engineer (WebSphere Specialist)Location: Pune (Work from Office) Employment Type: Contract to Hire (C2H) Experience: 5 -8 Years Job Description:We areseeking a skilled Middleware Engineer with expertise in IBM HTTP Server,WebSphere Application Server, and WebSphere Portal Server to manage and supportour application hosting infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have a strongbackground in middleware installation, configuration, and troubleshooting,coupled with excellent analytical and problem -solving skills. Key Responsibilities:Middleware Product Expertise:Install, configure, and maintain middleware products such as IBM HTTP Server (IHS), WebSphere Application Server (WAS), WebSphere Portal Server, MQ Client/Server, and BPM in compliance with organizational standards.Perform configuration changes on existing application environments to meet business needs.Technical Support & Issue Resolution:Investigate and resolve technical issues related to application hosting infrastructure across DEV, UAT, Production, and Contingency environments.Provide ongoing support for problem records, perform root cause analysis, and coordinate with infrastructure/application teams to resolve issues effectively.Problem Management:Own and resolve issues, ensuring analytical and problem management skills are applied to prevent recurrence.Actively participate in quality review meetings, handle crisis calls, and contribute to incident/problem review processes.Operational Excellence:Monitor and track service improvement initiatives, ensuring deliverables meet quality standards within agreed schedules.Provide timely reports to senior management and ensure adherence to organizational guidelines and best practices.Collaboration & Communication:Collaborate with stakeholders to manage risks, escalate issues promptly, and ensure alignment with organizational objectives.Act as a liaison between technical teams and management, ensuring clear communication and efficient problem resolution. Scripting & Automation:Develop and maintain scripts using Shell, Perl, or Python for automation and operational efficiency. Must -Have Skills:Strong expertise in IBM HTTP Server, WebSphere Application Server, and WebSphere Portal Server (6.x, 7.x).Experience in middleware product installation, configuration, and governance.Hands -on experience troubleshooting application hosting infrastructure issues.Scripting skills in Shell, Perl, or Python. Nice -to -Have Skills:Knowledge of middleware products like MQ Client/Server, BPM.Familiarity with ever -greening and patching governance. Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.5 -8 years of relevant experience in middleware and application hosting environments.Strong analytical and problem -solving skills with the ability to drive resolution.Excellent communication skills for stakeholder interaction and escalation.
