The Project Manager will be responsible for planning, executing, and supervising WRD and irrigation projects, including canal works, embankments, water supply structures, sluice gates, pump houses, and related infrastructure. The role involves complete project lifecycle management—ensuring timely completion, quality standards, cost control, and compliance with government guidelines.

Key Responsibilities:1. Project Planning & Execution

  • Prepare and review project plans, schedules, resource allocation, and timelines.
  • Lead site execution of WRD/irrigation works such as canal lining, earthwork, structures, culverts, regulators, embankments, and irrigation systems.
  • Ensure project progress as per DPR, BOQ, drawings, and technical specifications.

2. Site Management

  • Supervise and coordinate daily site activities with engineers, supervisors, contractors, and subcontractors.
  • Ensure availability of materials, machinery, and workforce.
  • Monitor quality, safety, and productivity levels on site.

3. Technical & Quality Control

  • Inspect and verify work as per approved drawings and WRD standards.
  • Oversee surveys, levels, and measurements for irrigation structures.
  • Coordinate with QA/QC teams for material testing and compliance.

4. Documentation & Reporting

  • Maintain daily progress reports (DPR) and update project MIS.
  • Prepare RA bills, reconciliation statements, measurement books (MB), and client reports.
  • Attend meetings with clients, consultants, and government officials.

5. Budget & Cost Control

  • Monitor project costs against approved budgets.
  • Prevent material wastage and ensure efficient resource utilization.
  • Identify risks and implement corrective actions to avoid cost overruns.

6. Compliance & Liaison

  • Ensure compliance with WRD regulations, safety norms, environmental guidelines, and contractual terms.
  • Coordinate and liaise with government departments, consultants, and third-party agencies.

7. Team Leadership

  • Lead and guide site engineers, supervisors, and support staff.
  • Resolve technical and site issues promptly.
  • Promote a positive and safe work culture on-site.

Required Qualifications & Skills:

  • Bachelor's Degree (B.Tech/B.E) in Civil Engineering; M.Tech in Water Resources/Irrigation preferred.
  • 8–15 years of experience in WRD, irrigation, canal, embankment, and water structure projects.
  • Strong knowledge of civil engineering design, drawings, BOQ, and government tender specifications.
  • Proficiency in MS Project, AutoCAD, MS Office, and project management tools.
  • Strong leadership, problem-solving, communication, and coordination skills.
  • Ability to manage large-scale site operations and meet strict deadlines.
