About the Role

We are seeking a highly detail-oriented Senior Bookkeeper with proven expertise in QuickBooks Online. The candidate will be responsible for the complete bookkeeping cycle, including maintaining accurate books, managing the Chart of Accounts, handling reconciliations, and ensuring that all entries are posted correctly. This role requires a hands-on professional who can efficiently balance automation within QuickBooks Online with the diligence required for manual bookkeeping tasks, ensuring accuracy and compliance in every transaction.

Key Responsibilities

  • Bookkeeping in QuickBooks Online

  • Record all financial transactions including invoices, bills, expenses, receipts, and payments.

  • Manage and maintain the Chart of Accounts in QuickBooks Online, ensuring proper categorization.
  • Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and digital payment platforms (e.g., PayPal, Stripe, etc.) on a monthly basis.
  • Track and manage accounts payable and accounts receivable, ensuring timely follow-up and accurate posting.

  • Maintain vendor and customer records with accuracy and consistency.

  • Automation & Manual Entries

  • Leverage QuickBooks Online automations (recurring invoices, expense rules, etc.).

  • Monitor and review automated entries to ensure correctness.

  • Handle manual entries, adjustments, and journal postings with precision where automation cannot be applied.

  • Accuracy, Compliance & Documentation

  • Ensure every entry is posted with complete attention to detail, accuracy, and supporting documentation.

  • Maintain proper digital records of all supporting documents within QuickBooks Online.
  • Prepare clean and accurate books for external accountants and tax filings.

  • Uphold best practices for internal controls and bookkeeping standards.

  • Collaboration

  • Work closely with management for day-to-day bookkeeping needs.

  • Liaise with external accountants/tax advisors for monthly, quarterly, and annual compliance.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
  • 5+ years of hands-on bookkeeping experience with QuickBooks required.
  • Deep understanding of full-cycle bookkeeping and Chart of Accounts management.
  • Proven experience in bank/credit card reconciliations, AP/AR management, and journal entries.
  • Exceptional attention to detail with a track record of maintaining error-free books.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple accounts and workflows.
  • Comfortable balancing automation workflows with manual accuracy checks.
