Customer Master Data Management:

• Create and maintain customer master data records in ERP systems (SAP/Salesforce/ServiceNow or other platforms).
• Ensure accurate setup of customer profiles including billing/shipping addresses, payment terms, credit limits, tax details, and contact information.
• Perform customer data enrichment and validation using internal and external sources including government portals.
• Enforce global data standards and templates to maintain uniformity across regions.

Onboarding & Requests Handling

• Manage intake of customer setup/change requests from Sales, Customer Service, and other teams.
• Validate documentation (e.g., RPS, business registration, tax certificates, credit application forms) before account creation.
• Performing duplicate checks to ensure no duplicate accounts create

US Tax Validation & Compliance

• Validate EIN, TIN, SSN using the IRS TIN Matching System.
• Review and process W-9, W-8 forms, ensuring completeness and IRS compliance.
• Validate and maintain Sales Tax Exemption Certificates for U.S. customers; ensure timely renewals and storage in designated systems.
• Enter and maintain correct tax-related fields in SAP (e.g., tax classification, tax jurisdiction code, tax indicators).

Data Governance & Internal Controls

• Adhere to global data governance policies, data quality standards, and SLAs for turnaround time and accuracy.
• Support SOX, internal, and external audits by ensuring traceability of documentation for both master data and tax validations.
• Identify and resolve duplicate or incomplete records through data cleansing initiatives.
• Support cleansing, deduplication, and enrichment initiatives for customer master data.
• Participate in audits, SOX compliance activities, and periodic data reviews.

Stakeholder Collaboration

• Liaise with Sales, Credit, Tax advisory, Compliance, Customer Service, and IT to ensure complete and accurate account creation.
• Communicate with U.S. customers and internal requestors for clarification or additional tax documents.
• Work with Tax and SAP Configuration teams to ensure proper tax logic is maintained in billing processes.
• Support resolution of order blocks, invoice mismatches, or delayed collections caused by data inaccuracies.
• Provide training and documentation for business users to raise accurate master data requests.

Reporting & Continuous Improvement

• Generate reports on data quality, turnaround time, and volume of requests processed.
• Identify root causes of data errors and propose process improvements or automation opportunities.
• Support UAT (User Acceptance Testing) and data migration in system changes or ERP implementations.
• Generate regular reports on account setup metrics

Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in Finance, Business Administration, or related field.
• 6-8 years of experience in Master Data Management, preferably within OTC or Shared Services.
• Hands-on experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Salesforce).
• Knowledge of OTC cycle and interdependencies of customer master data with credit, billing, and collection.
• Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
• Familiarity with data privacy regulations and internal control frameworks.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with data cleansing and enrichment tools (e.g., Tableau, Excel Macros, Access).
• Understanding of global tax requirements (e.g., GST, VAT, TDS).
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
