About the Role
Weber Shandwick India is seeking a
Vice President, Public Affairs
to lead integrated communications, advocacy, and stakeholder engagement at the intersection of policy and reputation management. This is a content-heavy leadership role requiring
exceptional writing and advisory skills
from geopolitical analysis to client-facing briefs and thought leadership. The ideal candidate will bring sharp understanding of the
policy landscape across multiple industries and mandates
, enabling clients to navigate regulatory complexities with confidence.
What Will You Do
- Lead client and inter-agency relationships, managing integrated public affairs, advocacy, and issues management campaigns.
- Produce
high-quality content
reports, policy briefs, talking points, op-eds, and thought leadership pieces that shape public and regulatory conversations. - Deliver
geopolitical and policy advisory
that translates complex developments into actionable insights for clients. - Monitor, analyze, and interpret policy changes across sectors, ensuring clients are ahead of the curve.
- Design and deploy reputation management strategies tailored to highly regulated industries.
- Engage with media both traditional and digital to amplify client narratives.
- Ensure compliance with laws, regulations, and ethical standards across all engagements.
Leadership and Team Management
- Mentor, coach, and develop high-performing teams, fostering growth and accountability.
- Act as a bridge across internal teams and external stakeholders, navigating conflicts with diplomacy.
- Champion inclusive hiring practices and actively participate in talent recruitment and onboarding.
- Build an inclusive, collaborative culture that encourages knowledge-sharing and professional development.
Growth and Business Development
- Identify opportunities to expand assignments within existing accounts by leveraging sectoral expertise.
- Contribute to new business development and pitches, aligning with revenue and growth targets.
- Manage the profitability of the practice, ensuring financial performance aligns with business objectives.
Business Acumen
- Collaborate with project management on developing new scopes of work and managing scope changes effectively.
- Advance Weber Shandwick's thought leadership in public affairs through authored content and industry engagement.
- Connect
geopolitical trends, regulatory shifts, and sectoral developments
to client business priorities.
What We Are Looking For
- 10–12 years of experience
in public affairs, government relations, policy communications, or corporate affairs. - Strong background in
content creation
: adept at crafting reports, briefs, client advisory notes, and high-level thought leadership. - Proven ability to
interpret policy and regulatory changes across multiple industries and mandates. - Prior experience in PR or Public Affairs agencies strongly preferred.
- Strong stakeholder management, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
- Agility in navigating complex media and policy environments with strategic clarity.
