Job Summary

The Accountant is responsible for managing financial records, preparing accurate financial statements, and ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulations. This role requires a strong analytical mind, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Financial Recordkeeping:
  • Maintain and update general ledgers and financial records accurately.
  • Process daily transactions including accounts payable and receivable.
  • Perform regular bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy.
  • Financial Reporting:
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Generate reports on budget variances, financial performance, and forecasts.
  • Assist in the preparation of budgets and financial plans.
  • Compliance & Auditing:
  • Ensure adherence to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and company policies.
  • Prepare documentation and support audit processes.
  • Keep up-to-date with changes in financial regulations and standards.
  • Tax & Payroll Management:
  • Assist with tax preparations and filings.
  • Manage payroll processes and employee expense reimbursements.
  • Maintain records for tax returns and other statutory submissions.
  • Financial Analysis:
  • Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and areas for cost optimization.
  • Provide recommendations for process improvements and cost control measures.
  • Collaborate with other departments to gather financial insights and resolve discrepancies.
  • General Administrative Duties:
  • Support the finance team with ad-hoc projects and tasks.
  • Ensure confidentiality of financial data and secure storage of sensitive documents.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.
  • Professional certifications (e.g., CPA, CMA) are preferred.
  • Experience:
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting or a similar role.
  • Proven track record in financial reporting, budgeting, and audit preparation.
  • Technical Skills:
  • Proficiency in accounting software Tally Erp and Microsoft office.
  • Solid understanding of accounting principles, financial regulations, and tax laws.
  • Soft Skills:
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
