Role Description

This is a full-time remote position for a US Mortgage Underwriter at Firstsource. The primary responsibilities include evaluating and analyzing mortgage loan applications to determine creditworthiness and eligibility based on company policies and lending guidelines. The underwriter will review financial documents, assess risk profiles, ensure compliance with regulations, and provide clear decisions on loan approvals, conditions, or denials. Collaboration with internal teams, effective communication with clients, and adherence to deadlines are vital aspects of the role.

Qualifications

  • Proficiency in Mortgage Underwriting, Mortgage Industry, and Mortgages
  • Strong expertise in Underwriting principles and practices
  • Excellent Analytical Skills for assessing risk and financial documents
  • Knowledge of regulatory compliance and industry standards
  • Strong attention to detail and decision-making skills
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience with mortgage systems and tools is an advantage
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in finance, banking, or a related field
