As a Group Product Design Manager, you'll join a culture deeply inspired and driven by a passion for shaping the future of entertainment and sports. In this role, you'll lead product design for a pod within the Core Consumer Experience — spanning discovery, consumption, and engagement.
You'll be responsible for mentoring and growing a team of talented designers, fostering design excellence, and solving complex user problems. You'll collaborate closely with cross-functional partners across engineering, product, research, business, and content to craft user experiences that are not only delightful and intuitive but also drive meaningful business outcomes at scale.
ABOUT THE TEAM: Design plays a crucial role at Disney+ Hotstar, focusing on three major areas: Product Design, UX Research, and Systems & Standards. Our closely-knit team covers a broad spectrum of design activities, from deriving insights from data, and designing interfaces and prototypes, to conducting user testing, motion graphics, and illustrations.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:Lead & grow a pod of designers (junior
- senior) by providing coaching, feedback, and career development
- Define design strategy and execution across your product area, balancing near-term delivery with long-term vision
- Partner with Product Management to define problem spaces, scope initiatives, and prioritize work
- Collaborate with Engineering to ensure feasibility, scalability, and seamless delivery and shipping of design solutions
- Work with User Research & Analytics to bring insights, testing, and data into the mix for informed decision making across various stages of the design lifecycle
- Align end designs with the Design System team to ensure consistency, scalability, and platform-wide design standards
- Build strong relationships across various levels of stakeholders in the business, marketing and content teams
- Champion design excellence and craft by leading structured critiques, reviews, and establishing best practices
- Drive measurable impact on key product and business metrics (engagement, retention, monetization, NPS, etc.)
- Create new paradigms that build on current and future AI capabilities to enable cutting edge experiences
- Help shape and progress the design and UX culture across functions
- 8+/10+ years of experience in digital product design, including 2+ /3+years in a leadership role managing designers
- Strong portfolio demonstrating:High-quality consumer-facing design work at scale
- Experience with design systems across platforms
- Design decisions driven by user insights and dataAbility to solve business and product challenges through design
- Proven ability to hire, mentor, and grow design talent
- Exceptional storytelling, facilitation, and communication skills across diverse stakeholders
- Experience working in cross-functional environments with product, engineering, research, and content/business teams
- Ability to operate at both strategic and hands-on levels
- Experience building consumer facing products in the tech industry
- A solid understanding of the current state of AI centric experiences
