Job Description

Job Title: Field Sales Engineer – IoT

Location: Mumbai

The Field Sales Engineer – IoT is responsible for promoting, demonstrating, and selling industrial safety solutions integrated with IoT technology.

Key Responsibilities:

Identify and develop new business opportunities for IoT-based monitoring solutions.

Conduct field visits, customer meetings, technical presentations, and live product demos.

Understand site requirements and recommend appropriate detection solutions (sensor type, placement, communication protocol, etc.).

Work with design and technical teams to prepare customized proposals and system configurations.

Generate inquiries through industrial visits, channel partners, consultants, and system integrators.

Prepare and submit technical-commercial offers, tenders, and BOQs.

Follow up with customers and convert inquiries into confirmed orders.

Coordinate with service and project teams for installation, commissioning, and after-sales support.

Maintain accurate sales pipeline data, forecast reports, and CRM updates.

Stay updated on safety regulations, ATEX/IECEx certifications, and IoT integration trends for predictive safety solutions.

Technical Knowledge (Preferred):

Communication and networking protocols: Modbus, RS485, 4–20mA, LoRa, Wi-Fi, MQTT, Ethernet.

Cloud-based IoT monitoring dashboards and data logging systems.

Knowledge of hazardous area classifications (Zone 1, Zone 2, Ex-proof standards).

Key Skills & Competencies:

Strong technical sales acumen and ability to understand client safety requirements.

Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.

Self-driven with a target-oriented approach.

Good understanding of industrial safety norms and gas detection systems.

Ability to work independently in field conditions and coordinate with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications & Experience:

Education: B.E. / B.Tech / Diploma in Electronics, Electrical, Instrumentation, or related discipline.

Experience: 2–6 years of experience in field sales of industrial safety or instrumentation products (gas detection, flame detection, IoT monitoring).
