About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and entrepreneurial Director of Information Technology who will serve as a dual leader, balancing strategic IT management with proactive business development. This role requires a proven leader who can not only manage and execute complex technology projects but also identify, secure, and deliver new revenue-generating IT contracts and business opportunities for the company. The ideal candidate transforms technical strategy into market success.

Key Responsibilities

1. Strategic Leadership & Business Development (Lead)

  • Revenue Generation: Lead the identification, qualification, and acquisition of new IT projects, services, and consulting contracts.
  • Client Engagement: Act as the senior technical lead in sales pitches, proposals, and client presentations, demonstrating the company's technical capabilities and expertise.
  • IT Strategy: Define the company's overall IT strategy, architecture, and technology roadmap to support long-term business goals and market competitiveness.
  • Budget & P&L: Own the IT department's budget, including capital expenditure for infrastructure, resource allocation, and ensuring the profitability of all technology projects.
  • Vendor Management: Build and maintain strategic relationships with key technology partners, vendors, and industry influencers.

2. Project Management & Delivery (Handle)

  • Project Execution: Oversee the entire project lifecycle for all major IT initiatives and client projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
  • Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and manage a high-performing team of IT professionals, developers, and project managers.
  • Risk Management: Establish robust governance frameworks, security protocols, and disaster recovery plans to safeguard the company's and clients' technical assets.
  • Process Improvement: Implement best practices for project management (e.g., Agile/Scrum), IT service management (ITIL), and quality assurance.

Required Qualifications

  • Experience: 8+ years of progressive experience in Information Technology, with at least 3 years in a senior leadership or directorial role.
  • Technical Acumen: Deep understanding of current technology trends, enterprise systems (Cloud, Data, Security), and software development methodologies.
  • Business Development: Proven track record in winning new business, negotiating complex contracts, and driving revenue growth within an IT services or solutions environment.
  • Project Leadership: Extensive experience managing multi-million dollar IT projects and programs, preferably with relevant certifications (e.g., PMP, Prince2, ITIL).
  • Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field.
