We're hiring — 2 Interns (6‑month remote internship)

Skillsoc Technologies is seeking two motivated interns for a 6‑month internship working with open‑source semiconductor tools. This is an unpaid internship; however, we provide on‑the‑job training and company health insurance for the duration of the program. The positions are remote with flexible hours and are an excellent opportunity to gain hands‑on experience in semiconductor physical design and high‑performance computing software environments.

Internship details

  • Duration: 6 months
  • Location: Remote (work-from-home)
  • Time commitment: Part‑time (flexible; please indicate your availability in your application)
  • Compensation: Unpaid internship — health insurance provided

Open roles

Physical Design Intern (Semiconductor)

  • Key responsibilities
  • Support RTL-to-GDSII physical design flows (floorplanning, synthesis, placement & routing)
  • Automate flows and analyses using scripting (Python, TCL, Shell)
  • Document procedures and results; collaborate with cross-functional teams
  • Required qualifications
  • Completed semiconductor/physical design training with hands‑on experience in PnR tools
  • Familiarity with Verilog/SystemVerilog and ASIC/RTL design flows
  • Comfortable working in Linux environments and using scripting for automation
  • Strong problem‑solving skills and attention to detail

Software Intern — Front End (React) & IT Infrastructure for HPC

  • Key responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain front‑end applications using React and modern web tooling
  • Build responsive UI components and integrate with backend APIs
  • Support IT infrastructure tasks for HPC environments (cluster management, containerization, monitoring)
  • Assist with performance tuning, job scheduling, and system automation
  • Write clear documentation and collaborate with engineering teams
  • Required qualifications
  • Practical experience building React applications (components, state management, routing)
  • Familiarity with Linux, container technologies (Docker), and basic HPC concepts (job schedulers, parallel filesystems)
  • Knowledge of networking fundamentals and infrastructure automation is a plus
  • Good communication skills and ability to work independently in a remote setting
