Role Overview
As a Business Development Representative, you will be responsible for connecting with senior technology and business leaders such as Chief Data/AI/Analytics/Digital Officers, CTOs, CMOs, VPs, and Marketing Technology Officers within Fortune 2000 companies across industries including Travel, Media, Financial Services, Manufacturing, Entertainment, Retail, and CPG.
You will play a critical role in initiating strategic conversations, identifying qualified opportunities, and setting up relationships for senior sales leaders to negotiate and close business. This is an excellent position for growth, with future opportunities to move into outside sales and deal closure.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead Generation & Research:
- Drive strategic lead-generation efforts by sourcing and qualifying high-value prospects through targeted web scraping, database mining, professional networking platforms, and in-depth internet research.
- Prospect Engagement:
- Build early-stage relationships through outbound calls, emails, and virtual meetings, crafting creative outreach that cuts through the noise and captures decision-makers' attention.
- Pipeline Management:
- Ensure a steady pipeline of sales-ready leads, enabling senior client partners to focus on closing deals rather than prospecting.
- Follow-ups & Nurturing:
- Maintain consistent engagement with prospects through diligent follow-up, ensuring smooth lead progression from initial contact to sales-ready status.
- Campaign Promotion:
- Support marketing initiatives by promoting sales campaigns and events via phone, email, and digital outreach.
- Sales Operations Support:
- Track all key metrics related to lead generation within CRM systems and provide regular reporting to sales leadership.
Qualifications & Skills
- Strong understanding of Data Engineering and Analytics services offerings.
- MBA in IT and Marketing (Mandatory) from a Tier 1 or Tier 2 institution (Preferred).
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering/Technology (Required).
- 2–4 years of experience in B2B demand/lead generation or business development within consulting, services, or product companies targeting Fortune 2000 clients.
- Demonstrated track record of creating qualified opportunities that contribute to revenue growth.
- Exceptional communication skills – confident, persuasive, and highly effective over the phone and in writing.
- Proven ability in objection handling, rapport building, and persuasion.
- Strong research skills to identify, qualify, and prioritize target accounts.
- Excellent time management and organizational abilities to handle high activity volume (calls, emails, research).
- Team-oriented, collaborative, and accountable.
- Positive attitude, dynamic personality, and a "courteously aggressive" approach to outbound sales.
- Exposure to professional sales training and experience in data/analytics industry is a plus.
- Self-starter mindset with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
