We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Financial Counselor to join our team. The primary responsibility of the Financial Counselor is to provide treatment estimates to patients, focusing on cash and medical insurance (TPA), and Govt. Panel (CGHS,DGHS, CRPF,CAPF etc.) patients. The individual should have prior experience working in a hospital environment, demonstrating expertise in patient financial assistance, billing, and insurance procedures.

Role & responsibilities

  • Provide treatment estimates to patients, particularly for cash and medical insurance (TPA/Mediclaim) cases.
  • Review patient medical history, required treatments, and associated costs to prepare accurate cost estimates.
  • Guide patients and their families in understanding the financial aspects of their treatment plans, including insurance coverage and out-of-pocket expenses.
  • Coordinate with medical and administrative teams to ensure seamless communication regarding treatment requirements and costs.
  • Assist in processing insurance claims and liaising with insurance companies for timely approvals and payments.
  • Monitor patient accounts and follow up on pending payments from insurance companies and self-paying patients.
  • Explain hospital billing policies to patients and assist them in understanding payment options, including installment plans.
  • Work closely with the finance and accounts departments to ensure accurate billing and resolution of financial queries.
  • Handle and resolve any patient financial complaints or issues, ensuring customer satisfaction.
  • Stay updated with hospital policies, industry standards, and insurance protocols.

Preferred candidate profile

  • Graduate in any discipline (preferably in Healthcare Administration or Finance).
  • Prior experience in a similar role in a hospital setting is mandatory.
  • Strong understanding of medical billing, insurance processes (including Mediclaim), and hospital pricing.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Detail-oriented, with strong analytical skills.
  • Ability to handle sensitive financial information with discretion.

Proficiency in MS Office and hospital billing software
