1. Position Summary

The Machinery Mechanical Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, improving, and maintaining mechanical systems and industrial machinery. The role involves equipment design, troubleshooting, reliability improvement, and supporting manufacturing operations to ensure optimal equipment performance, safety, and efficiency.

2. Key Responsibilities

A. Design & Development

  • Design and develop mechanical components, assemblies, and machinery used in production.
  • Create 3D models, engineering drawings, and technical documentation using CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, etc.).
  • Perform material selection, tolerance analysis, and structural calculations.
  • Collaborate with electrical and automation teams to develop integrated machine systems.

B. Machinery Installation & Commissioning

  • Oversee installation, testing, and commissioning of new equipment.
  • Validate machine performance and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
  • Prepare installation manuals and standard operating procedures (SOPs).

C. Maintenance & Troubleshooting

  • Diagnose mechanical failures and perform root cause analysis (RCA).
  • Lead corrective and preventive maintenance initiatives.
  • Optimize machine settings, reduce downtime, and improve reliability.

D. Process & Performance Improvement

  • Analyze equipment performance and implement continuous improvement projects.
  • Recommend design modifications to enhance efficiency, safety, and productivity.
  • Support lean manufacturing, automation, and modernization initiatives.

E. Documentation & Compliance

  • Prepare engineering reports, technical specifications, and maintenance documentation.
  • Ensure all machinery meets industry standards and regulatory requirements (ISO, OSHA, etc.).

3. Qualifications & Skills

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or related field.

Experience

  • 2–5+ years in machinery design, maintenance, or manufacturing (depending on seniority level).
  • Experience with mechanical systems such as conveyors, pumps, gearboxes, hydraulics, pneumatics, rotating equipment, etc.

Technical Skills

  • Proficiency in CAD tools (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Creo, etc.).
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical design principles, GD&T, and machine analysis.
  • Understanding of PLC-controlled systems (preferred).
  • Familiarity with FEA simulations and reliability engineering tools is an advantage.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Good communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and work in a fast-paced industrial environment.
