Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and guide the forward design activities for mechanical systems, including machinery, piping, HVAC, and auxiliary systems.
  • Supervise preparation of layout drawings, schematics, and design calculations during the concept and basic design stages.
  • Review and validate Project Technical Specifications (PTS) and Design Basis Documents for mechanical and piping systems.
  • Liaise with classification societies (e.g., ABS, DNV, IRS, BV) and regulatory authorities for design submission and approval.
  • Support project planning and scheduling of design deliverables, ensuring timely completion of all forward design activities.
  • Conduct design feasibility studies, system optimization reviews, and technical risk assessments.
  • Provide technical support to the detailed design and production teams for design clarifications and issue resolution.
  • Drive continuous improvement in design processes, methodologies, and digital design tool usage.
  • Mentor and develop junior engineers through guidance, technical reviews, and knowledge-sharing sessions.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Marine Engineering, or a related field.
  • Master's Degree in Mechanical Design, Marine Systems, or Thermal Engineering preferred.
  • Professional certifications in Marine Mechanical Systems Design or Piping Engineering are advantageous.
