About the Role
Oversees the preparation and regular updates of individual Departmental Operations Manuals within the Food and Beverage Division.
Responsibilities
- Conducts regular divisional communication meetings and ensures departmental briefings are productive and conducted as needed.
- Represents the Food and Beverage function on the Hotel's Executive Committee.
- Ensures all team members consistently deliver the brand promise and provide exceptional guest service at all times.
- Promotes excellent service delivery to internal customers across all departments.
- Regularly spends time in public areas, observing guest-employee interactions and directly engaging with guests; collaborates with department heads to coach staff in guest service skills when necessary.
- Handles guest and internal customer complaints and inquiries in a courteous, professional, and timely manner, ensuring all issues are resolved satisfactorily.
- Maintains positive and productive guest and colleague interactions, fostering strong working relationships.
- Maximizes employee productivity through multi-skilling, multi-tasking, and flexible scheduling to meet financial targets and guest expectations.
- Ensures all profit centers (e.g., restaurants, bars, banquets) operate efficiently to maximize profitability while upholding brand standards.
- Ensures cost centers (e.g., stewarding) operate with optimal cost efficiency without compromising guest service.
- Leads the preparation of the Annual Business Plan for the Food and Beverage Division.
- Analyzes business performance strategically to ensure accurate and insightful forecasting, involving relevant department heads in the process.
- Manages costs proactively using key performance indicators and operational data.
- Ensures compliance with hotel, corporate, and local financial regulations, including financial recordkeeping, cash handling, and licensing.
- Supports inventory management and the ongoing maintenance of operational equipment and assets.
- Actively participates in pricing strategy meetings to ensure competitive and profitable pricing in outlets and banquet operations.
- Prepares, maintains, and utilizes an Annual Marketing Plan, segmented by department as required.
- Continuously evaluates local, national, and international market trends, competitor performance, and vendor offerings to ensure the hotel's Food and Beverage operations remain innovative and competitive.
- Encourages department heads to pursue marketing and public relations opportunities that enhance brand visibility and drive business growth.
- Ensures implementation of all company minimum brand standards and evaluates the feasibility of incorporating optional brand standards.
- Monitors operational performance, especially during high-traffic periods, making necessary adjustments through department heads.
- Ensures the effective execution of "Touches of Hyatt" and the Food and Beverage Top 20 initiatives.
- Reviews Consumer Audit feedback and ensures corrective actions are implemented where required.
- Works collaboratively with Executive Committee members, supporting the overall success of the hotel and enhancing guest satisfaction.
- Fosters teamwork and interdepartmental cooperation in line with the hotel's "We work through Teams" philosophy.
- Ensures staff remain informed on seasonal offerings and new products available in the market.
- Regularly tastes and reviews food and beverage items throughout the operation, providing constructive feedback to maintain high quality standards
