Position Title: Senior Librarian

Organization: ITM University, Raipur

Location: Uparwara Gaon, Atal Nagar, Raipur, Chhattisgarh

Employment Type: Full-Time

Working Days: 6 Days/Week (Last Saturday of the month is off)

Shift: General Shift (7 hours/day)

Transport: Pickup & Drop Bus Service Available

Candidate Profile:

  • Qualification:

  • Mandatory: M.Lib (Master of Library Science)

  • Preferred: NET qualified & Ph.D.

  • Minimum 810 years of experience in a senior library position, preferably in a recognized university/institution

  • Skills & Attributes:

  • Excellent organizational and cataloging skills

  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Positive attitude and flexible nature
  • Leadership and team supervision capabilities

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Maintain accurate records of circulation and study materials
  2. Supervise budgeting, planning, and staff activities within the library
  3. Conduct periodic physical verification of books and assets
  4. Guide users on the effective use of library resources, services, and facilities
  5. Review and evaluate resource materials (books, catalogs, digital resources)
  6. Code, classify, and catalog all library materials per standard classification systems
  7. Address user complaints and ensure quality service delivery
  8. Develop and implement library policies and operational procedures
  9. Compile bibliographies and curated lists on subject-specific materials
  10. Publish a monthly Library Newsletter
  11. Coordinate and publish the biannual University Journal
