Responsibilities

1. Project Planning & Delivery Management

• Define project scope, objectives, and success criteria in collaboration with business and technical stakeholders.

• Prepare detailed project plans, timelines, resource allocations, and risk registers.

• Manage end-to-end project execution — from initiation to closure — across multiple concurrent projects.

• Oversee technical delivery, ensuring milestones and deliverables align with architecture, data, and product goals.

• Track progress using Agile or hybrid frameworks, managing sprint cycles, releases, and dependencies.

• Ensure project delivery within scope, time, cost, and quality constraints.

2. Stakeholder & Communication Management

• Serve as the primary liaison between engineering, product, leadership, and client teams.

• Conduct regular project governance meetings, including steering committee reviews, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.

• Present project health dashboards, risk assessments, and forecasts to senior management.

• Manage communication channels and documentation for all project stakeholders.

• Build and maintain strong relationships across internal and external partners.

3. Technical Understanding & Coordination

• Collaborate with software engineers, architects, and data scientists to understand project technicalities and dependencies.

• Translate high-level technical requirements into actionable delivery milestones.

• Facilitate alignment across AI/ML, data, backend, and cloud teams, ensuring end-to-end system coherence.

• Review and validate technical feasibility, data architecture, and design decisions with relevant SMEs.

• Support teams in adopting modern tools, frameworks, and automation to improve delivery efficiency.

4. Risk, Budget & Resource Management

• Maintain project budgets, resource forecasts, and utilization reports.

• Identify and manage project risks and mitigation strategies proactively.

• Oversee vendor contracts and third-party integrations where applicable.

• Ensure compliance with organizational standards, security policies, and quality processes.

5. Agile, Process & Performance Improvement

• Promote Agile and Lean principles — drive retrospectives and continuous improvement initiatives.

• Leverage tools like Jira, Confluence, MS Project, or Asana for delivery visibility and tracking.

• Build data-driven reporting systems for metrics such as velocity, burn rate, defect ratio, and delivery predictability.

• Mentor and guide team members in agile project management and technical execution best practices.
 

Qualifications

Core Experience

• 8–12 years of professional experience, with at least 5+ years in IT project management or delivery leadership roles.

• Proven track record of delivering software, AI, or data engineering projects in complex enterprise environments.

• Demonstrated ability to manage multi-disciplinary teams — including developers, analysts, QA, data engineers, and data scientists.

• Strong knowledge of Agile, Scrum, and Waterfall methodologies, with hands-on hybrid delivery experience.

Technical Proficiency

• Educational background in Computer Science, Information Technology, or Engineering (Bachelor's or higher).

• Strong understanding of:

• Software development lifecycle (SDLC)

• Data platforms, APIs, and cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, GCP)

• Data pipelines, ETL, or data governance principles

• AI/ML workflows (model building, MLOps, deployment cycles)

• Familiarity with DevOps and CI/CD practices is a strong advantage.

Project Management Tools

• Proficiency with Jira, Confluence, MS Project, Asana, or  for project planning and reporting.

• Competent with visualization and reporting tools (Excel, Power BI, Tableau preferred).

Certifications (Preferred)

• PMP / PRINCE2 / CSM / PSM / PMI-ACP

• ITIL or SAFe certification (added advantage).

• Technical certification in Cloud / Data / AI domains preferred.
