Role Overview:

The Manager Last Mile Operations (South Region) will be responsible for leading, managing, Flipkart Grocery and ODH operations across the South region. This role demands strong operational leadership, P&L ownership, stakeholder management, and decision-making ability to drive performance, efficiency, and profitability. The ideal candidate should have the ability to manage large teams, handle multiple projects simultaneously, work under pressure, and maintain strong client relationships while ensuring operational excellence and compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Regional Operations Management

  • Oversee and ensure smooth functioning of E2E and ODH operations across all hubs and cities in the South region.
  • Monitor and ensure 100% achievement of key performance parameters
  • Implement best practices to improve efficiency, reduce TAT, and enhance service quality.
  • Ensure adherence to operational SOPs and compliance guidelines.

2. P&L Ownership & Cost Control

  • Own the regional P&L, ensuring cost optimization and profitability.
  • Identify cost leakages and drive initiatives to control COD losses, material damages, and productivity variances.
  • Work with finance and central teams to forecast budgets, manage expenses, and deliver cost-efficient operations.

3. People Leadership & Team Management

  • Lead and mentor a large on-ground team including Hub Managers (HIs) & Team Leaders.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews, set goals, and drive accountability.
  • Identify and act swiftly on non-performing resources or default behaviors to maintain operational discipline.
  • Foster a culture of ownership, agility, and teamwork.

4. Vendor & Stakeholder Management

  • Manage relationships with vendors, third-party partners, and internal stakeholders (HR, Finance, Admin, Planning etc..).
  • Negotiate and finalize rate cards, manpower contracts, and service-level agreements.
  • Ensure vendors deliver consistent quality and performance.

5. Client Management & Escalation Handling

  • Act as the primary point of contact for client communications in the South region.
  • Handle client escalations effectively and ensure quick resolution to maintain trust and satisfaction.
  • Proactively share performance updates and improvement plans with clients and senior management.

6. Monitoring, Reporting & Review

  • Analyze daily and weekly performance dashboards to identify trends, bottlenecks, and improvement areas.
  • Prepare detailed performance reports and share insights with the leadership team.
  • Drive data-backed decision-making and continuous improvement initiatives.

7. Strategic Planning & Execution

  • Lead new project rollouts and expansion in existing/new locations.
  • Collaborate with central teams for technology adoption, automation, and process standardization.
  • Take quick decisions and execute contingency plans during high-volume or crisis situations.

Educational Qualification:

  • Graduate / Postgraduate in any discipline

Experience:

  • 5–8 years of experience in Last Mile / Logistics Operations Management.
  • Proven experience managing large-scale field operations across multiple locations.
  • Prior exposure to E-commerce, Hyperlocal, or 3PL Logistics preferred.
