Role Summary

The Lead Technical Writer will define and execute documentation strategy across products and platforms, leading a team, setting standards, and delivering clear, user-focused content including product guides, API references, and knowledge base materials aligned with roadmaps and release cycles. This role requires close collaboration with engineering, product, and support teams to ensure accuracy and consistency, while also mentoring writers, establishing scalable processes, and driving initiatives in automation, content reuse, and developer tool integration to serve diverse audiences such as developers, administrators, and end users.

Key Skills

  • Expert in technical writing, editing, and content strategy
  • Strong knowledge of documentation standards, style guides, and information architecture
  • Proficiency with documentation tools
  • Experience with API documentation, SDKs, and developer portals
  • Ability to lead documentation projects and manage cross-functional stakeholders
  • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum workflows and product development lifecycle
  • Strong leadership, mentoring, and team management skills
  • Excellent communication and collaboration across engineering, product, and design teams
  • Knowledge of version control, structured authoring (DITA/XML), and content management systems
  • Analytical skills to assess documentation effectiveness and improve user experience

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in technical writing, content strategy, or documentation leadershipminimum 4 years in a senior managerial/leadership role.
  • Proven track record of building and scaling documentation functions for enterprise SaaS products.
  • Expertise in structured content, multi-channel publishing, and component content management systems.
  • Ability to simplify complex workflows into into clear, user-friendly content.
  • Strong leadership, stakeholder management, and change management skills.

Bonus Skills

  • Knowledge of life sciences, regulatory technology, or compliance-driven industries (RIM, IDMP, labeling, 21 CFR Part 11).
  • Experience with AI-driven content personalization or low-code/no-code authoring platforms.
  • Familiarity with chatbot content development and conversational UI design.
  • Expertise in global content localization strategies.
