We are looking for an experienced GCP Data Engineer to support our data modernization initiative as we transition from Teradata to Cerebro (BigQuery). The role involves remapping and repointing existing Power BI reports, building and optimizing data models, and ensuring data quality through validation and testing.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work on repointing and remapping existing Power BI reports from RxBI to Cerebro (BigQuery).
  • Develop and maintain tables, views, and data pipelines on GCP.
  • Perform data validation and QA to ensure data accuracy post-migration.
  • Collaborate with BI and analytics teams to ensure seamless data access and reporting.
  • Optimize performance and scalability of data solutions within GCP.
  • Contribute to best practices for data governance, quality, and performance tuning.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • 5+ years of overall experience in Data Engineering.

  • 3+ years of hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services such as:

  • BigQuery, DataProc, Cloud Storage, Cloud Composer (Airflow).

  • Strong programming skills in Python and Spark.

  • Advanced SQL skills, with the ability to write optimized and complex queries.
  • Experience working with Power BI (PBI) specifically in integrating and repointing datasets.
  • Proven experience in data migration or modernization projects (e.g., Teradata to GCP).

Good to Have:

  • Exposure to data modeling and ETL framework design.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and version control (e.g., Git).
  • Understanding of data governance and metadata management.

Soft Skills:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
