Robotics, an ETH Zurich startup headquartered in Tokyo, aspires to become the global leader in making robots more accessible. We currently lead the pick-assist AMR market in Japan and have secured investments from reputable backers, including Goldman Sachs, Sony, and Yaskawa.

As we establish a global hub in Chennai as an independent center to facilitate our global expansion, we're seeking a Senior Robotics Operations Engineer. Your role will be crucial in leading the support and robotics operations teams while owning tooling and deployment workflows.

You will ensure customer deployments are reliable, support field engineers with the right tools, and drive operational efficiency across the team.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate support and robotics operations teams to ensure smooth customer deployments and issue resolution.
  • Own and maintain tooling repositories for mapping, deployments, configuration setup, and health checks used by field teams.
  • Build and improve deployment automation and diagnostics tools to help teams work efficiently.
  • Make customer deployments simple and repeatable through templates and validated configurations.
  • Partner with Field Engineering and Platform teams to prioritize operational needs and improvements.
  • Maintain CI/CD workflows and automation pipelines for deployment processes.
  • Create runbooks and documentation to help teams deploy and debug issues faster.
  • Analyze recurring issues and drive improvements in deployment reliability.
  • Ensure compliance with security and operational standards in tooling and processes.

Minimum Qualifications

  • At least 5 years in operations, support, or engineering roles with team coordination experience.
  • Strong scripting skills in Python and Bash for automation tasks.
  • Experience with deployment tools, CI/CD systems, and containerization (Docker).
  • Ability to build internal tools and improve operational workflows.
  • Clear communication skills and bias toward automation and documentation.
  • Strong communication skills in English.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience leading or coordinating technical support or operations teams.
  • Background in robotics or field operations environments.
  • Familiarity with deployment automation and observability tools.
  • Understanding of security best practices and compliance requirements.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across teams and provide technical guidance.
  • Proactive problem-solving mindset with focus on team efficiency.
