Position: Trainee Bioinformatician

Location: Indus Health Plus Pvt Ltd., Pune, Mumbai

Department: Product Genetics

Reports To: Senior Bioinformatician

Overview:

This entry-level position is perfect for individuals looking to start their career in bioinformatics. As a Trainee Bioinformatician, you will receive hands-on training in genomic data analysis, contributing to various projects related to NGS and microarray technologies while working under close supervision.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in basic data processing tasks, including the management of NGS/microarray data.

  • Learn and implement standard bioinformatics pipelines for data analysis.

  • Contribute to quality control checks and troubleshooting of computational workflows.

  • Support senior team members with literature reviews and data interpretation.

  • Gain experience in using bioinformatics tools such as GATK, PLINK, and R.

  • Document project workflows and analysis steps, ensuring reproducibility.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Bioinformatics, Biology, Computer Science, or a related field.

  • Basic knowledge of genomics, genetics, and bioinformatics tools.

  • Willingness to learn new programming languages (Python, R) and data analysis software.

  • Attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and the ability to work in a collaborative team.

This role is ideal for individuals looking to build foundational skills in bioinformatics and grow within a dynamic team environment.

Stipend would be 10k per month.
