Key Responsibilities

  • Loan Underwriting: Analyze the financial health and business background of loan applicants for Home Loans and Loans Against Property (LAP) to determine creditworthiness.
  • Credit Quality Management: Monitor the credit quality of approved loans, aiming to keep delinquency rates low, and oversee underwritten cases in their initial stages.
  • Risk Assessment: Evaluate and process end-to-end loan applications, which includes approving or rejecting requests based on credibility and potential risks.
  • Policy Implementation: Assist the team in implementing head office and local policies at the ground level to ensure consistent and quality processing.
  • Team and Staff Support: Support the business plan through the quick turnaround of new and existing proposals, while also mentoring junior staff like Credit Process Associates (CPAs) to improve their output and productivity.
  • Relationship Management: Coordinate with business teams and other credit teams to resolve issues and ensure smooth operations.
  • Performance Monitoring: Maintain productivity levels for loan processing and monitor delinquency in underwritten accounts.
  • Vendor Management: Handle activities related to empaneled vendors, such as conducting stock audits and processing vendor bills.
  • Reporting: Handle various management information systems (MIS) related to the portfolio and prepare reports on findings and actions to be taken.

Required Qualifications

  • Education: A Chartered Accountant (CA) or MBA from a well-known institute.
  • Experience: A minimum of 2-4 years of experience in the mortgage sector with either a bank or a Non-Banking Financial Company (NBFC).
  • Skills: Sound knowledge of current economic indicators and the mortgage industry is required.
