GENERAL PURPOSE:

University of the People is seeking a BI/Analytics Director to lead our BI/Analytics Group :

In this role, you'll shape our data and analytics strategy, overseeing data-driven initiatives that inform decision-making across the organization. You'll partner with stakeholders to deliver actionable insights, develop reporting capabilities, and drive continuous improvements in data collection and analysis processes.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Team Management: Lead and mentor a team of data analysts and data scientists, fostering a culture of collaboration and growth. Develop team skills in data visualization, data modeling, and statistical analysis techniques. Formulate and implement management techniques for quality data collection, to ensure adequacy, accuracy, and legitimacy of data. Manage the intake of data requests to the team.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with cross-functional leaders (e.g., Marketing, Enrollment, Academic Affairs, Operations) to identify key institutional questions and create data solutions.
• Analytics & Reporting: Oversee the development of dashboards, KPI reports, and data visualizations. Drive the implementation of self-service Power BI dashboards for end-users to access data independently.
• Single Source of Truth/Quality: Work closely with Data Engineering teams to establish our Datawarehouse as the single source of truth while continuously developing the University data dictionary. Support and train data analysts with centralization of data processing logic in the DW

KEY COMPETENCIES:

• Strong data analytics and reporting skills using Power BI
• Previous experience with agile project management practices to manage analytics sprints and iterative development.
• problem-solving skills
• Ability to work remotely as part of an international team
• Insights on the use of AI techniques and tools to enhance analytical capabilities

QUALIFICATIONS:

• BSc/BA in Computer Science, Statistics, Data Management or a related field
• Fluent English
• 7+ years' experience in data analytics, reporting and database management
• 5+ years of team management experience
• Advanced knowledge of data analysis, statistical modeling, data manipulation, and reporting techniques (including Excel, SAS, Python, SQL)
• Advanced Experience working with Power BI
• Understanding of Data Modeling/Architecture and Data Warehousing systems required
