Job Summary:

The Pipe Fabricator is responsible for measuring, cutting, preparing, and assembling pipes according to project drawings and specifications. The role requires strong knowledge of pipe materials, fittings, and welding preparation techniques to ensure accurate and high-quality fabrication work.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Read and interpret piping drawings, isometric sketches, and blueprints.
  • Measure, cut, bevel, and prepare pipes of various materials and diameters.
  • Fabricate and fit-up pipes and components according to project standards.
  • Mark, align, and assemble pipes with the correct orientation before welding.
  • Prepare supports, hangers, and structural brackets for pipe installation.
  • Ensure pipe joints and connections are within specified tolerances.
  • Coordinate with welders, fitters, and supervisors for smooth workflow.
  • Conduct visual inspection of completed fabrication work for accuracy and quality.
  • Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Report any material shortages or design issues to the supervisor immediately.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • ITI / Diploma in Mechanical or relevant trade.
  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in pipe fabrication (preferably in oil & gas, petrochemical, or construction industries).
  • Ability to interpret isometric and spool drawings.
  • Knowledge of various pipe materials (carbon steel, stainless steel, etc.).
  • Experience using fabrication tools (grinders, beveling machines, measuring instruments).
  • Familiar with ASME and ASTM standards (preferred).
