Overview The Unreal Engine Developer plays a pivotal role in the design and development of interactive and immersive experiences using Unreal Engine. This position is essential for both gaming and non-gaming projects, as Unreal Engine provides high-quality visuals and complex game mechanics. The developer will be responsible for creating engaging gameplay, effective tools, and performance-optimized environments. Working closely with designers and artists, the Unreal Engine Developer ensures that the technical aspects of the project align seamlessly with the creative vision. The successful candidate will leverage their expertise in C++ and Blueprints, along with a strong understanding of game mechanics and performance optimization techniques. As part of a dynamic development team, the Unreal Engine Developer will contribute significantly to the delivery of innovative and high-performance applications, thereby enhancing the overall user experience and satisfaction. Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement gameplay systems using C++ and Blueprints.
  • Collaborate with designers, artists, and other developers to ensure cohesive project vision.
  • Create prototypes and iterate on gameplay designs and mechanics.
  • Optimize game performance across multiple platforms.
  • Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code according to industry best practices.
  • Debug and troubleshoot gameplay issues to ensure quality of the final product.
  • Develop tools to streamline workflow for designers and artists.
  • Integrate third-party tools and plugins to enhance production capabilities.
  • Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members.
  • Implement user interfaces that are intuitive and enhance user experience.
  • Stay updated on the latest industry trends, techniques, and technologies.
  • Contribute to the optimization of assets, ensuring they meet project specifications.
  • Collaborate in cross-functional teams to define project scope, objectives, and timelines.
  • Mentor junior developers to enhance their skills and contributions to the team.
  • Create and maintain documentation for gameplay systems and tools.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Game Development, or related field.
  • Proven experience in game development with Unreal Engine.
  • Strong proficiency in C++ programming language.
  • Experience with Unreal Engine's Blueprints visual scripting system.
  • Solid understanding of game design principles and mechanics.
  • Knowledge of 3D modeling and animation software.
  • Experience with shader development and graphical rendering concepts.
  • Familiarity with virtual reality (VR) development practices.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to debug complex issues.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Good communication skills for sharing technical concepts with non-technical team members.
  • Understanding of performance optimization techniques for games and applications.
  • Experience with version control systems, ideally Git.
  • Portfolio showcasing previous game projects and contributions.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines in fast-paced environments.
