Job Title: Assistant Manager Building Materials
Job Summary:
We are looking for a dynamic and results-oriented Person to drive business growth through project-based sales of building materials. This role focuses on identifying, pursuing, and closing sales opportunities within construction and infrastructure projects by building strong relationships with key stakeholders including architects, consultants, builders, and contractors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify and develop new project sales opportunities through market research, networking, and regular site visits.
- Build and maintain relationships with architects, builders, contractors, project consultants, and procurement teams.
- Track upcoming residential, commercial, and infrastructure projects from pre-tender to execution stages.
- Provide product presentations, technical guidance, and customized solutions based on project requirements.
- Prepare and submit proposals, quotations, and bid documentation as per project specifications.
- Coordinate with internal teams (technical, logistics, finance) to ensure smooth project execution and material delivery.
- Monitor competitor activities, pricing, and market trends to identify opportunities and threats.
- Achieve sales targets and ensure timely collection of payments from project clients.
- Maintain updated CRM records and provide regular sales reports and project tracking updates to management.
Requirements:
- Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering, Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field.
- 25 years of experience in project sales of building materials (e.g., doors, cement, tiles, steel, glass, hardware, etc.).
- Proven network in the construction and infrastructure sector (developers, architects, contractors).
- Strong understanding of construction project cycles and procurement processes.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
- Willingness to travel frequently to project sites and client offices.
- Proficient in MS Office and CRM software (Salesforce, Zoho, etc.).
Preferred Qualifications: B tech or BE (Mechanical / Electrical/ Civil)
- Experience with specification-based selling (selling through architects/specifiers).
- Familiarity with government and private sector tendering processes.
- Knowledge of green building materials and sustainable construction practices.
