Job Title: Robotics Field Engineer

Job Type: Full-Time

Job Summary:

We are looking for a Robotics Field Engineer who can bridge the gap between design, manufacturing, and real-world deployment. This role requires a dynamic individual capable of understanding engineering drawings, coordinating with vendors, overseeing manufacturing processes, performing assembly and quality checks, and handling end-to-end field deployment and support.

Key Responsibilities:

Manufacturing Coordination & Quality:

  • Interpret mechanical and electrical engineering drawings, BOMs, and technical documentation.
  • Coordinate with manufacturing vendors to ensure timely delivery and adherence to quality standards.
  • Monitor and oversee fabrication, machining, assembly, and procurement processes.
  • Conduct in-house or vendor-based quality inspections to verify tolerances, materials, and finish.
  • Supervise and participate in the mechanical/electrical assembly of robotic systems.

Field Engineering & Deployment:

  • Install, calibrate, and validate robotic systems at customer or field locations.
  • Execute field-level troubleshooting and issue resolution for mechanical, electrical, or software problems.
  • Perform system-level testing, commissioning, and performance validation in real-world conditions.
  • Act as the primary field contact for system deployment, client handover, and support.

Client Interaction & Feedback:

  • Provide on-site technical support and training to clients/end users.
  • Capture customer feedback, field issues, and feature requests; relay to design and product teams.
  • Ensure client satisfaction by delivering responsive service and optimal field performance.

Documentation & Reporting:

  • Maintain logs for installation, inspection, failure analysis, and corrective actions.
  • Generate detailed field service and deployment reports.
  • Track inventory and spare parts required for field deployment and maintenance.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Diploma / Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Mechatronics, Robotics, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience in robotic systems, industrial automation, or field engineering.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings (mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic).
  • Experience in coordinating with machine shops, sheet metal vendors, fabrication and assembly units.
  • Excellent assembly skills—mechanical and basic electrical/wiring.
  • Quick problem-solving abilities and resilience in challenging field conditions.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills for vendor and client interactions.
  • Willingness to travel to vendor sites and field deployment locations (up to 60% travel).

Good to Have:

  • Basic understanding of embedded electronics and control systems.
  • Prior experience with Autonomous Mobile Robots (AMRs), AGVs, or robotic arms.
  • Knowledge of safety standards and handling of industrial robots.
