Job Description – Primary HOD (Mathematics)

Position Summary:

Responsible for leading the Mathematics Department for Classes 1–5, ensuring high academic standards, teacher support, and effective curriculum implementation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and manage Mathematics curriculum and assessments for Classes 1–5.
  • Prepare academic plans, portions, question papers, practice papers, block tests, bridge course, and holiday homework.
  • Conduct teacher training, workshops, and PEP sessions.
  • Observe classes, mentor teachers, and improve teaching methodologies.
  • Review textbooks/materials and support activity-based/conceptual learning.
  • Analyze student performance and plan improvement strategies.
  • Participate in teacher recruitment (demos, interviews, script corrections).
  • Coordinate with branches and support academic implementation.

Required Skills & Qualification

  • Trained Graduate / B.Ed / Relevant qualification.
  • Strong subject knowledge in Mathematics with teaching experience.
  • Excellent communication, classroom management, and leadership skills.
  • Time management, attention to detail, innovation, and adaptability.
  • Problem-solving skills and basic computer proficiency.
