Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Lead the Science Department (Grades 6–10 or 6–12 depending on school structure) ensuring effective teaching and learning.
  • Supervise and support Science teachers in lesson planning, pedagogy, and classroom management.
  • Develop and implement the department's annual academic plan aligned with the school curriculum (CBSE / ICSE / IB).
  • Monitor student performance and support initiatives to improve academic outcomes.
  • Organize departmental meetings, training sessions, and science-related events (exhibitions, fairs, competitions).
  • Conduct classroom observations and provide constructive feedback to teaching staff.
  • Coordinate with the Principal and Academic Coordinator for curriculum development and assessment strategies.
  • Ensure laboratory safety, equipment maintenance, and effective use of resources.
  • Encourage innovative and inquiry-based learning across all Science subjects.

  • Strong leadership and organizational skills.
  • Excellent subject expertise across Physics, Chemistry, and Biology fundamentals.
  • Ability to mentor and guide teachers effectively.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Competence in using digital teaching and assessment tools.
  • Strategic thinking with a focus on continuous improvement.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Science or Education (M.Sc. / M.Ed.).
  • Experience leading a Science department or academic team.
  • Prior experience in a reputed CBSE or IB curriculum school.
