Front-End Designer Remote Independent Contractor, P/T

NewsXPartners Corporation (NXP), a rapidly-growing and dynamic New York-based media company is seeking a Front-End Designer to collaborate with our global engineering and product teams. The ideal candidate will blend creative design expertise with technical implementation skillscrafting elegant, accessible user interfaces within Laravel-based environments.

You will work closely with our Laravel developers and product leads to design, refine, and deploy high-quality interfaces across editorial, healthcare, and analytics applications.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement responsive, accessible, and visually consistent web interfaces.
  • Convert Figma or Adobe XD mockups into production-ready HTML/CSS layouts and reusable UI components.
  • Collaborate with backend developers to align designs with Laravel Blade templates and component structure.
  • Manage and style assets within Laravels /resources/views and /public directories.
  • Develop and maintain design systems using Tailwind CSS.
  • Optimize front-end performance and ensure WCAG accessibility compliance.
  • Participate in design reviews, user testing, and iterative UI improvements.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in front-end design, UI/UX, or creative development.
  • Strong proficiency in HTML5, CSS3, and Tailwind CSS.
  • Hands-on experience working within Laravel Blade templates.
  • Skilled in Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, or equivalent tools.
  • Understanding of mobile-first and cross-browser responsive design principles.
  • Excellent attention to visual detail and ability to collaborate effectively with developers.
  • Fluency in written and spoken English.

Preferred Skills

  • Familiarity with Laravel Livewire or workflows.
  • Basic experience with or React.
  • Experience designing or maintaining reusable UI component libraries.
  • Understanding of Git-based collaborative development.
  • Background in media, healthcare, or data visualization projects.
