Site Engineer

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Site Engineer to join our dynamic construction team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations on our construction site, ensuring that all work is carried out safely, on schedule, within budget, and in strict adherence to quality standards and technical specifications. You will be the critical link between the project management team and the on-ground workforce.

Key Responsibilities

1. Site Supervision & Execution:

• Supervise and monitor all on-site construction activities, including civil, structural, and finishing works.
• Ensure that all construction is executed as per the approved architectural and structural drawings.
• Coordinate with contractors, subcontractors, and labour to ensure seamless workflow and productivity.

2. Quality Control & Assurance:

• Conduct regular inspections of materials, workmanship, and construction methods to ensure compliance with project specifications and quality standards (e.g., IS Codes).
• Perform quality checks for concrete slump tests, cube casting, brickwork, plastering, tiling, waterproofing, etc.
• Maintain detailed quality control records and reports.

3. Planning & Scheduling:

• Assist the Project Manager in creating short-term work schedules (Weekly/Daily Action Plans).
• Monitor project progress against the master schedule and report any delays or issues immediately.
• Manage resources (manpower, materials, machinery) efficiently to meet project milestones.

4. Technical Expertise & Problem-Solving:

• Study and understand all project drawings, specifications, and BOQ (Bill of Quantities).
• Resolve technical issues that arise on-site in consultation with senior engineers and architects.
• Suggest value-engineering solutions without compromising on quality and safety.

5. Safety Management:

• Enforce strict adherence to all safety protocols and regulations on site.
• Conduct regular safety toolbox talks and ensure that all personnel use appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
• Identify and mitigate potential safety hazards.

6. Documentation & Reporting:

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date site records, including daily progress reports, material consumption reports, labour attendance, and site meeting minutes.
• Prepare and submit daily and weekly progress reports to the Project Manager.
• Assist in the measurement of work done (M-Book) for contractor billing.

7. Coordination & Communication:

• Liaise with consultants (architectural, structural, MEP) to resolve design queries and ensure design intent is achieved.
• Coordinate with the procurement team for timely delivery of materials to the site.
• Act as a key point of contact for on-site queries and issues.

Required Qualifications & Skills

Education:

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (B.E/B.Tech) from a recognized university.
• A Master's degree or relevant certifications (e.g., in Project Management, Health & Safety) is a plus.

Experience:

• 2 - 5 years of experience as a Site Engineer or similar role in the real estate construction industry.
• Proven experience in high-rise residential or commercial projects in Bengaluru is highly preferred.
• Familiarity with the local building bye-laws, authority regulations, and standard construction practices in Bengaluru.

Technical Skills:

• Proficiency in reading and interpreting architectural, structural, and MEP drawings.
• Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and legal regulations (IS Codes).
• Proficiency in MS Office (especially Excel and Word) and project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera).
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD is a significant advantage.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹40, ₹80,000.00 per month

Work Location: In person
