Overview of Role

Business Analyst for a newly formed private equity firm focused on investments in the business services and technology services sectors in the US. This is an opportunity to work directly with the Managing Partner as he builds out a lower middle market private equity platform based in New York and Florida.

The firm will officially launch in January 2026 and will target founder-owned companies with $1075 million+ in revenue and $3–15 million+ in EBITDA. Key sectors include IT Services, Professional Services, Infrastructure Services, and other subsectors within Business Services. The strategy will center on professionalizing and scaling platforms through go-to-market optimization, organizational buildout, automation, and corporate development initiatives.

The launch team will include several professionals from the private equity industry, including senior executives who have run private equity–backed lower middle market companies across the target sectors.

The Managing Partner brings over 24 years of lower middle market private equity experience in these sectors. Over his career, he has invested more than $1.3 billion of equity across 18 platforms and 75+ add-on acquisitions, with a consistent focus on founder-led businesses. His background includes senior leadership at a 40+ year-old, $20 billion AUM private equity firm, co-founding and leading a lower middle market fund, and earlier roles at a middle market PE platform affiliated with a global bulge-bracket bank. He began his career in investment banking and holds a B.S. in Applied Economics and Management from Cornell University.

Business Analyst Responsibilities

  1. Firm Infrastructure & Website

  2. Identify cost-efficient vendors for private equity/asset management websites; evaluate pricing and timelines.

  3. Benchmark 20+ websites of comparable lower middle market PE firms.
  4. Develop layouts, templates, and content for the firm's initial site.

2. Business Development Initiatives

  • Build a detailed database of relevant investment banks, M&A advisors, and business brokers.
  • Source contacts, support outreach campaigns, and track progress.
  • Evaluate AI-driven CRM systems (e.g., Grata) for deal flow management; review demos, analyze pricing, and recommend best-fit vendors.

3. Marketing Materials

  • Assist with the creation of the firm's overview deck and two-page summary.
  • Benchmark 5–10 comparable firms' marketing materials.

4.Automation & Tools

  • Research and recommend workflow solutions across business development, calendaring, internal communication, diligence, and investor relations.

5. Direct Support to Partner

  • Support outreach efforts, meeting prep, scheduling, and follow-up communications.

Compensation

We offer a very competitive compensation package in line with top-tier opportunities. For the right candidate, this could be in the range of 25–40L+ annually, depending on experience and fit.

Candidate Profile

  • 3–5 years of professional experience in investment banking, private equity, asset management, or other financial services.
  • Prior experience at tier-1 investment banks, consulting firms, or private investment firms strongly preferred.
  • Strong analytical, research, and presentation skills with advanced proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint.
