Job Summary:

The Food Safety Auditor is responsible for conducting food safety audits, inspections, and assessments of food manufacturing, processing, packaging, storage, and distribution facilities to ensure compliance with national and international food safety standards and regulatory requirements. The auditor plays a key role in certification programs (e.g., ISO 22000, FSSC 22000, BRCGS, HACCP, etc.) and supports continual improvement in client food safety systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct independent, third-party food safety audits at client sites, in accordance with regulatory and certification scheme requirements.
  • Review food safety management systems (FSMS), sanitation practices, operational procedures, and records.
  • HACCP

  • GMP/GHP
  • Local regulatory laws (e.g., FSSAI, FDA, EU regulations)
  • Prepare and submit clear, concise, and accurate audit reports within established deadlines.
  • Identify non-conformities and provide recommendations for corrective and preventive actions.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to clients regarding food safety practices and regulatory compliance.
  • Maintain confidentiality and impartiality during all audit activities.
  • Stay current with evolving food safety regulations, auditing standards, and industry best practices.
  • Attend periodic calibration and training sessions as required by the certification body.

Essential:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Food Technology, Agriculture, or related discipline.
  • Minimum 1-2 years of experience in food safety, quality assurance, or auditing.
  • Recognized training in food safety management systems such as:
  • ISO 22000:2018 Lead Auditor Course
  • HACCP (Level 3 or 4)
  • FSSC/BRCGS auditor training (if applicable)
  • Knowledge of food safety standards, regulatory frameworks, and certification schemes.
