Data Engineer

This role is eligible for our hybrid work model: Two days in-office.

As a Data Engineer in our FinTech data engineering team, you'll be a key contributor to the ETL backbone that powers finance, accounting, and ERP across the company. Working primarily with Informatica PowerCenter / CDIPC and our financial data warehouse, you'll help move and transform millions of rows of data each day from core transactional systems into trusted datasets used to close the books, pay partners, and support audits and compliance. This role is a big deal because the workflows you build and maintain directly determine whether our numbers are accurate, timely, and reliable—and you'll gain valuable exposure to our ongoing transformation as we gradually evolve these critical pipelines onto modern data platforms.

• Participate in cloud migration and modernizing current data systems. 

• Oversee data systems that serve hundreds of millions of real time events a day.

• Collaborate on building software that collects and queries data, while also composing queries for investigation purposes.

• Diagnose and solve any issues within data infrastructure.

• Develop and maintain scalable data pipelines on Informatica using Oracle 

• Develop ETL and ELT processes to ingest, transform, and cleanse data from various sources into cloud-based data warehouses

• Create and maintain data models in Oracle optimized for analytics, reporting, and financial analysis

• Implement data validation and testing frameworks to ensure the accuracy, quality, and compliance of financial data.

• Implement monitoring and alerting for data pipelines using tools
   

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science. 

• 3+ years of work experience in Software Engineering and development.

• Develop, test, and maintain database structures and processes. 

• Create and maintain technical documentation for ETL processes.

• Identify and troubleshoot issues in ETL processes.

• Perform unit testing, integration testing, and system testing on ETL processes.

• Collaborate with cross functional teams to ensure successful implementation of ETL processes.

• Expertise in ETL/ELT processes, data ingestion, and data transformation, particularly with tools like Informatica.

• Experience in performance tuning of Informatica PowerCenter to optimize ETL workflows and improve processing speed.

• Familiarity with FTP for file transfers and integration in ETL processes.

• Strong SQL skills, Data Warehousing knowledge

• Knowledge of Shell scripting to automate tasks and maintain configuration.

• Basic knowledge of Python is required to support scripting and automation tasks.

• Experience with continuous integration and deployment for data pipelines using GitHub Actions, Jenkins

Priceline is following a hybrid working model, which includes two days onsite as determined by you and your manager (ideally selecting among Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday). On the remaining days, you can choose to be remote or in the office.
