Job Summary

We are seeking a creative and strategic Political Social Media Manager to lead the online presence and digital narrative of our political campaign/office. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing, implementing, and managing social media strategies that engage supporters, drive political messaging, and enhance the public image of our candidate/party.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive social media strategy aligned with campaign goals and political messaging.
  • Create engaging and persuasive content (posts, videos, reels, graphics, live sessions, stories) for platforms such as X (Twitter), Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, LinkedIn, and WhatsApp.
  • Monitor social media channels for political trends, breaking news, public sentiment, and opposition activities.
  • Manage daily posting schedules and maintain a strong, consistent online presence.
  • Collaborate closely with the communications, design, and media teams to ensure message consistency.
  • Engage with followers, respond to comments/messages, and foster positive community interaction.
  • Track and analyze performance metrics (engagement, reach, conversions) to optimize strategy and content.
  • Coordinate social media campaigns around political events, rallies, debates, and press releases.
  • Stay updated on social media algorithm changes, new tools, and emerging platforms.
  • Manage social media advertising budgets and oversee sponsored campaigns.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Political Science, Marketing, Journalism, or related field.
  • 2–5 years of experience in social media management, preferably in politics, advocacy, or public relations.
  • Strong understanding of political communication, current affairs, and media trends.
  • Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling skills with political tone sensitivity.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment and meet tight deadlines.
  • Proficiency with social media management tools (Hootsuite, Buffer, Sprout Social, etc.) and analytics tools (Meta Insights, X Analytics, Google Analytics).
  • Graphic design/video editing skills are a plus (Canva, Adobe Suite, CapCut, etc.).
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, and strategic thinking skills.
