Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and implementation of complex mainframe solutions to meet business requirements.
  • Oversee the development and maintenance of applications using IBM Mainframe Utilities VSAM JCL and Cobol.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members to foster skill development.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of mainframe applications with other systems.
  • Ensure adherence to coding standards and best practices to maintain high-quality codebases.
  • Conduct regular code reviews and provide constructive feedback to enhance team performance.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues promptly to minimize downtime and ensure business continuity.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for all mainframe applications and processes.
  • Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies to drive continuous improvement.
  • Coordinate with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
  • Manage project timelines and deliverables to ensure successful project completion within deadlines.
  • Contribute to the strategic planning of IT initiatives to align with organizational goals.
  • Foster a collaborative and inclusive team environment to promote innovation and creativity.

Qualifications

  • Possess extensive experience in IBM Mainframe Utilities demonstrating a deep understanding of their functionalities.
  • Have a strong background in VSAM and JCL with the ability to optimize performance and efficiency.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in Cobol programming with a proven track record of successful project implementations.
  • Exhibit excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues.
  • Show strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members and stakeholders.
  • Display a proactive approach to learning and adapting to new technologies and methodologies.
  • Hold a bachelors degree in Computer Science or a related field with a focus on mainframe technologies.
