We help the world run better
At SAP, we keep it simple: you bring your best to us, and we'll bring out the best in you. We're builders touching over 20 industries and 80% of global commerce, and we need your unique talents to help shape what's next. The work is challenging – but it matters. You'll find a place where you can be yourself, prioritize your wellbeing, and truly belong. What's in it for you? Constant learning, skill growth, great benefits, and a team that wants you to grow and succeed.
What you'll build
As a Product Management Specialist for Discrete Industries, you will drive comprehensive product management for next-generation cloud products in the automotive domain. You'll lead product vision, define requirements, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful delivery. Your role encompasses the entire product lifecycle, from conception to market success, leveraging industry expertise to create products that customers love.
- Define and refine product vision, user journeys, and roadmap aligned to customer outcomes and platform strategy.
- Turn discovery insights into prioritized epics, user stories, and acceptance criteria; maintain a healthy, outcome-focused backlog.
- Collaborate with engineering and design to plan increments, clarify scope, and validate delivery against acceptance criteria and quality standards.
- Use telemetry, customer feedback, and market signals to drive measurable improvements to usability, performance, and adoption.
- Monitor industry trends, standards, and compliance considerations relevant to discrete manufacturing to inform differentiation and prioritization.
- Partner with Product Marketing and field teams on value propositions, demos, and enablement; support early adopters and structured feedback loops.
- Communicate plans, progress, and risks with transparency; align work with adjacent products and portfolio initiatives.
What you bring
We're seeking a collaborative professional with product management skills and discrete industry knowledge. You should be comfortable with Agile methodologies and have a solid understanding of technical concepts.
Essential criteria:
- 4-7 years Experience contributing to software product management or adjacent roles (e.g., business analysis, UX, engineering) with ownership of features or sub-projects.
- Ability to translate customer problems into clear requirements and prioritized backlogs focused on outcomes and measurable value.
- Familiarity with discrete industry processes (e.g., order-to-make, production planning and execution, quality, maintenance, supply chain or distribution) and related KPIs is a plus.
- Proficiency with product practices and tools (backlog management, discovery interviews, analytics, experimentation).
- Strong communication and collaboration skills; you work constructively across functions and provide timely, clear updates.
- Growth mindset and curiosity; you seek feedback, test hypotheses, and iterate to improve user and business outcomes.
Nice to have:
- Experience with co-innovation projects
- Knowledge of the BTP ecosystem
We value diversity and encourage all qualified candidates to apply, regardless of background or experience level.
