Business Finance Partner 

The role will act as a strategic business finance partner to the regional leadership teams, driving financial planning, cost control, and investment efficiency. This role involves overseeing project budgets, optimizing engineering spend, and ensuring alignment of financial decisions with corporate goals. The ideal candidate brings strong financial acumen, analytical skills, and the ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders in a dynamic, innovation-driven environment.

Job Responsibilities and Duties:

• Financial Planning & Analysis(FP&A)

• Lead annual budgeting, quarterly forecasting, & long-range planning for the Region
• Analyze OPEX, headcount, & capital spend; variances vs. plan & key cost drivers.
• Provide detailed cost variance analysis, headcount tracking, and resource utilization insights.
• Evaluate ROI and payback on capital and technology investments.
• Prepare and present monthly business reviews and variance analysis to leadership.

• Business Finance Partnering & Decision Support

• Act as a financial advisor to leaders — providing actionable insights to improve operational and financial efficiency.
• Support product roadmap decisions, build-versus-buy analyses, and cost-benefit assessments for technology initiatives.
• Drive accountability for spend management and performance metrics within engineering cost centers.

• Financial Control & Compliance

• Ensure accurate capitalization of R&D costs in accordance with accounting standards.
• Monitor project cost allocations, ensuring compliance with internal policies and external audit requirements.
• Own monthly and quarterly close activities related to engineering expenses, accruals, and reclassifications.

• Reporting & Insights

• Deliver dashboards and reports highlighting trends in R&D efficiency, cost per engineer, and project-level spend.
• Own monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closes for BU.
• Identify cost optimization opportunities and benchmark engineering costs versus industry peers.
• Prepare management dashboards, variance reports, and performance summaries.
• Prepare and present financial performance reviews for senior management.

Required Qualifications:

• Education: MBA (Finance)/ICWAI / Chartered Accountant (CA) / CMA / CPA preferred.
• Experience: 8+ years in FP&A, Business Finance, or Controllership roles — preferably experience in Manufacturing Engineering, R&D, or any Information Technology (IT) organization.
• Technical Skills:
  • Advanced Excel & financial modeling
  • ERP and Forecasting tool experience
  • Experience with BI tools (Power BI / Tableau) would be added advantage.
