Job Title: Azure DevOps Engineer CI/CD, Azure, GitHub, Kubernetes/OCP

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Azure DevOps Engineer to design, implement, and manage CI/CD pipelines for modern Java-based microservices. This role will focus on automating the build and deployment of Spring Boot applications using native image(Java 21), containerizing them with Docker, and deploying to Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) or OpenShift (OCP). The role will also own quality gates in the pipeline, ensuring automated unit testing, code coverage, and integration testing are embedded in every build.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps (YAML pipelines) for Spring Boot applications.
  • Integrate GitHub repositories with Azure DevOps for source control and build automation.
  • Implement and maintain JUnit unit tests, enforce JaCoCo code coverage, and integrate integration testing stages into the pipeline.
  • Build and optimize Docker images for Java 21 Spring Boot microservices.
  • Automate deployment of applications to Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) or Red Hat OpenShift (OCP).
  • Manage deployments via Helm charts or Kubernetes manifests.
  • Secure build and release processes using Azure Key Vault or Kubernetes secrets.
  • Integrate quality checks, test reports, and coverage reports into pipelines (e.g., publish JaCoCo reports).
  • Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting (Prometheus, Grafana, Azure Monitor, etc.).
  • Collaborate closely with developers and QA engineers to ensure shift-left testing and continuous quality.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a DevOps Engineer / Azure DevOps Engineer / Cloud DevOps Specialist.
  • Strong knowledge of Azure DevOps Pipelines (YAML-based) and GitHub integration.
  • Hands-on experience with Java (preferably Java 21) and Spring Boot applications.
  • Expertise in JUnit testing, JaCoCo code coverage, and integrating tests in CI/CD pipelines.
  • Strong background in Docker (building and optimizing container images).
  • Solid understanding of Kubernetes (AKS and/or OpenShift preferred).
  • Familiarity with Helm, Kustomize, or Kubernetes manifests.
  • Good understanding of DevOps quality gates (test automation, code coverage thresholds, static analysis tools).
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
