The Chief Business Manager is responsible for driving the overall business growth, profitability, and strategic direction of the NBFC. The role involves leading business development, overseeing lending operations (retail and/or corporate), managing product portfolios, and ensuring regulatory compliance. The CBM will work closely with the leadership team to design and implement strategies for sustainable growth while maintaining strong credit discipline and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities1. Business Strategy & Growth
- Develop and implement strategic business plans to achieve financial goals and market share targets.
- Identify new business opportunities, lending segments, and partnerships to expand the NBFC's portfolio.
- Drive geographical and product diversification (e.g., SME loans, vehicle finance, microfinance, gold loans, personal loans, etc.).
- Ensure alignment of business strategies with the company's long-term vision and regulatory environment.
2. Sales & Marketing Leadership
- Lead sales teams to achieve disbursement, asset growth, and profitability targets.
- Design and execute marketing and customer acquisition strategies.
- Develop channel partner networks (DSAs, fintechs, dealers, etc.) for business expansion.
- Monitor sales performance through data analytics and market intelligence.
3. Portfolio & Credit Management
- Ensure asset quality by maintaining strong underwriting standards and credit risk management frameworks.
- Collaborate with credit, risk, and operations teams to ensure efficient loan processing and minimal NPAs.
- Monitor portfolio health and implement corrective actions for stressed assets.
4. Product & Process Innovation
- Develop and enhance loan products, pricing models, and customer experience strategies.
- Oversee digital transformation initiatives — including automation, CRM systems, and fintech collaborations.
- Drive process efficiency and turnaround time improvement across business functions.
5. Leadership & Team Management
- Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing business team across regions.
- Establish clear performance metrics and incentive structures.
- Foster a results-driven and compliant organizational culture.
6. Compliance & Governance
- Ensure adherence to RBI/NBFC regulations and internal policies.
- Maintain robust audit and compliance standards in all business operations.
- Collaborate with finance, legal, and compliance teams for smooth functioning.

Qualifications & Experience
- Education: MBA/PGDM in Finance, Marketing, or Business Management; CA or equivalent preferred.
- Experience: 12–20 years in NBFCs/Banks, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
- Proven track record in driving business growth and managing large teams.
